Your website sucks on mobile
It’s 2022 and I promise, no matter what your business: your customers use smartphones.
So if you haven’t updated your styling since 1997, it’s time to hire a web designer so they can make sure that it’s readable on a small screen:
… and make sure that the elements on the page don’t overlap each other in weird, illegible ways:
… and that everything fits on the screen, and that nobody has to scroll right:
Other issues you might check for are excessive padding between sections, links or buttons that are too close together, and menus that are off-center.
But I’m imploring you, just pay an expert to diagnose and fix your mobile issues. Once that’s complete, all you have to do is:
QA all new pages / designs on mobile (not just desktop!)
Check conversion rates by device and by screen resolution every few months to look for underperformers
That’s it! You can now rest assured that nobody will angrily throw their phone into a lake after seeing your website.
And as we all know, “not throwing your phone into a lake” is the first step toward conversion.
